Marie-Christine von Pezold

Independent Family Governance Expert

Marie-Christine von Pezold is an independent consultant specialising in family governance and strategic estate planning. Through her activity, she helps entrepreneurial families to achieve the optimum balance between their economic, social and environmental responsibilities to build and maintain sustainable firms and strong family units. In addition to her private mandates, she is affiliated at the IMD Family Business Global Center, consultant for Family Governance at Lombard Odier and Director of the Family Business Network Switzerland. She has internationally recognised expertise in the drafting of family constitutions for numerous families in business and investment, and works with Professor Christine Blondel of the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD) and Professor Peter Vogel of the International Institute for Management Development (IMD). Marie-Christine began her career at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as a fundraising manager for foundations and private donors, and then joined the Family Business department at Banque Lombard Odier in Geneva. She was responsible for coaching families on family governance issues and is behind the Lombard Odier Family Governance Programme. Marie-Christine holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Innsbruck and the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics. Her working languages are English, French and German.
